On 17 February 2026, unidentified gunmen shot dead a senior lawyer and former president of the District Bar Association in Qayyumabad Toru area of Mardan district (Mardan, KPK). The assailants opened indiscriminate fire on his vehicle while he was en route to the district courts, killing him on the spot. His son and two passersby sustained critical gunshot injuries and were shifted to hospital. Total 1 fatality and 3 injured.
