On 17 February 2026, in Juazeiro do Norte (Ceara), military police officers exchanged fire with two unidentified armed suspects in the Tiradentes neighborhood. The officers conducted an operation to locate the suspects, who were planning an attack against a criminal group. The officers approached the suspects, who fired against them. An armed clash took place and both suspects were shot and killed, one of whom had a police record for drug trafficking. Police seized firearms and ammunition. 2 fatalities.
