On 17 February 2026, in La Concordia (La Concordia, Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas), an unknown number of armed assailants in a car shot and killed two motorcycle drivers in a drive-by shooting on De Los Cafetos and Luis Vargas Torres streets. The victims lost control of their motorcycle and crashed. One of them had a prior criminal record for extortion. No arrests were made. 2 fatalities.
