Around 17 February 2026 (as reported), in Guayaquil - Ximena (Guayas) an unknown number of armed assailants engaged in a shootout on Pio Jaramillo Avenue near the Metrovia Sur station. According to residents, the assailants were armed with rifles and exchanged gunfire with each other, causing panic in the area. No further information is available. Casualties unknown.
