Around 17 February 2026 (as reported), in Patia municipality (Cauca), military forces dismantled six illegal mining units in around the rural vereda La Marcela belonging to the ELN Manuel Vasquez Castano front. They confiscated and destroyed three excavators, two dredges, and eight industrial engines to extract approximately three thousand grams of gold monthly. Authorship and motivation attributed to the Manuel Vasquez Castano front of the ELN to strengthen their financial and armed capacity. There were no casualties.
