On 17 February 2026, unidentified armed cattle raiders (coded as unidentified communal militia) clashed with local youth (likely members of the Toposa community, based on location) at the Kangaceng cattle camp in Kauto Payam (location coded to Kauto, the nearest known location in Kapoeta East County), resulting in 4 fatalities. The raiders were repelled from the area, and no cattle were raided.
