On 17 February 2026, JNIM claimed to have ambushed a Malian army patrol near the village of Bengo (Monimpebougou, Macina, Segou). At least 4 soldiers were killed, and machine guns and three motorcycles were seized. Additionally, one military vehicle and several motorcycles were burned. JNIM published photographs of the seizure.
