On 17 February 2026, the Malian army announced that it conducted airstrikes against armed militants (likely JNIM, based on the location), who were attempting to attack their convoy in Ke-Macina (Macina, Macina, Segou). Another set of airstrikes targeted a group of militants attempting to evacuate their injured in the same area. Over 20 militants were killed, and their logistical supplies were destroyed.
