On 16 February 2026, in Kyauk Ka Lat village (Thandwe township, Thandwe district, Rakhine state), a 27-year-old man stepped on a landmine planted by the Myanmar military while heading to his chili plantation at about 4 pm. He lost one of his legs and sustained injuries.
