On 16 February 2026, near Thaing Chaung village (Kyaukpyu Township, Kyaukpyu District, Rakhine State), following an attack carried out by the Arakan Army (ULA/AA) against the Myanmar military (coded separately), the military indiscriminately conducted drone strikes and fired artillery rounds near the village and surrounding areas. Casualties unknown.
