Around 16 February 2026 (between 12 - 19 February), local Taliban gunmen shot and injured five members of a family in the Biland Shahi area of Enjil district (coded to Enjil), Herat, following a dispute. Locals stated that the family was threatened and warned by the Taliban affiliated members that if they pursued the case, none of them would be left alive. The family said the local Taliban administration refused to register their complaint and told them that the matter must be resolved outside of court.
