On 16 February 2026, in San Juan, San Juan, overnight, three masked armed men exited a vehicle and opened fire on a security guard around 60 times, killing him at the scene. The attackers then fled the scene in a waiting vehicle (driven by a fourth individual). The victim was serving as security guard at a parking lot on Avenida 65 de Infanteria when he was targeted. The police found a burning vehicle suspected of having been used by the attackers later that day. The motivation is unknown. 1 fatality.
