On 16 February 2026, SPLM/A-IO members ambushed an NSS patrol along the Yambio-Maridi Road, approximately 45km northeast of Yambio Town, in Teak plantation area, Bangasu Payam (location coded to Bangasu, the nearest known location in Yambio County, Western Equatoria State). There were no casualties but the vehicles were slightly damaged.
