On 15 February 2026, in Hpasawng town (Hpasawng township, Bawlake district, Kayah state), the Myanmar military claimed that they launched offensive attacks and regained full control of town which partly had been held by the Karenni Army (KNPP/KA) and Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF). Irrawaddy, Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, and Kantarawaddy Times reported that Myanmar military has not fully controlled the town as clashes remain high on the ground. Casualties unknown.
