On 15 February 2026, an Israeli drone struck a taxi vehicle using a missile in Majdel Aanjar (Zahle, Bekaa). At least four explosions were heard in nearby villages. Four individuals, including the taxi driver (who was a Syrian national), were killed in the attack. The IDF claimed the strike targeted two members from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization. The IDF added that the PIJ members were targeted while crossing from Lebanon into Syria. Lebanese media sources reported that four people were killed and the driver was a Syrian national. It is likely that the fourth person killed was a civilian (unspecified nationality).
