On 15 February 2026, police and police reservists trailed and ambushed unknown gunmen (likely Samburu militia since the attackers fled towards the Loibasat area, which is mainly inhabited by the Samburu community), leading to an armed clash in an unspecified village within Marti location (coded to the nearest known location as Marti, Samburu North, Samburu), moments after the gunmen had invaded the area and made away with 50 goats towards the Loibasat area. Casualties unknown and all the goats were recovered following the incident.
