On 15 February 2026, Fano (AFNM) claimed to have ambushed the ENDF, Amhara regional riot police, and Kebele militia that were moving from Chandiba to Takusa at Chew Diba or Werk Diba (Chilga 2, Central Gondar, Amhara), killing many state security forces (fatalities uncorroborated). Fano also indicated that 2 of its members were killed in the clash. Fatalities coded as 12 (unspecified number of state security forces fatalities coded as 10 + 2 Fano militia killed in the clash).
