On 15 February 2026, in the morning, JNIM militants attacked a post of the Burkinabe in the village of Nare (Tougouri, Namentenga, Centre-Nord), killing 10 people including 4 soldiers and 6 VDP. Other sources said around 30 soldiers were killed. JNIM claimed to have attacked and taken control of a Burkinabe army camp in the village, and published photographs of weapons and other items it seized. 10 fatalities coded, as the lowest estimate available.
