A 36-year-old Florence man was arrested on Monday morning following an incident late Sunday evening on Brickhouse Road in Florence County. Florence County Sheriff T.J. Joye said the man broke into a home. Joye said when they went to arrest the man, he refused to leave the home, even at one point, threatening to shoot deputies. MORE: Deadly assault at Marion Co. nightclub, officials say He added that the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team deployed tear gas into the home and that's when the man surrendered. Joye said the man has been booked at the Florence County Detention Center and his specific charges will be released later Monday.
