On 14 February 2026, in the east of Hpar Hpyo village (coded as Hpar Hpyo (Ah Htet) (Minbya township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), a remnant belonging to the Myanmar military detonated at around 4 pm after two Muslim men, aged 27 and 35, struck it with a knife while they were in the forest collecting wood. Both were killed by the explosion. 2 fatalities.
