On 14 February 2026, in Shar Taw village (Thabeikkyin township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the Myanmar military claimed to regain the control of Shar Taw village, which was held by the People's Defense Force under the NUG, after using the on ground operations and drone strikes. Shar Taw village is located in border with Takaung town, the only town that the resistance groups controlled in Mandalay region.
