On 14 February 2026, in Za Yat Seik village (Palaw township, Myeik district, Tanintharyi region), a married couple aged of 40 years old stepped on a landmine planted by an unknown group and exploded while traveling to harvest nipa palm leaves. They both died due to the injuries though they were taken to clinic 2 fatalities.
