SAA event in Mon State, Ye area, Myanmar on Sun 22nd February 2026

Four soldiers, including Lieutenant Win Soe, were killed during an attack on patrolling military troops in Ye Township, Mon State, and one firearm was seized. Additionally, one civilian was killed by heavy artillery fired by the military, according to the leader of the Ye Balu (Ye Ogre) force and local residents who spoke to Khit Thit Media.

At approximately 8:00 AM on February 22, the Ye Balu 591 Battalion conducted an ambush from a distance of about 100 meters against seven soldiers from the Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 591 based in Kyaung Ywa, Ye Township. Four soldiers, including Lieutenant Win Soe (who held the rank of Staff Sergeant), were killed in the assault.

During the engagement, one MA-3 rifle, three magazines, and 100 rounds of ammunition were seized from the terrorist military. The Ye Balu members were able to retreat without casualties following the attack.
