Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Älgö area, Sweden on Sun 22nd February 2026

Early Sunday morning, an alarm was raised about an explosion on Älgö in the Stockholm archipelago. A family was in the house, but no one was injured.

The alarm about the bang came just after five o'clock in the morning on Sunday, both from the property owner himself and others nearby.

– Both adults and children were in the house. But no injuries, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesman for the police.

According to police and emergency services, there was minor damage to the property.

– There is relatively limited damage, especially to a door, where it has burned, says Daniel Wikdahl.

The police are classifying the incident as public destruction. On Tuesday, the police announced that two people have been arrested.

– We are trying to find out why this happened, at the moment there is no clear motive, says Daniel Wikdahl.
