Missile event in Kirovohrad Oblast, Kropyvnytskyi area, Ukraine on Sun 22nd February 2026
22nd February 2026
New sentinel satellite imagery reveals that most of the Iskander-M ballistic missiles aimed at Kirovohrad Oblast struck Kanatove Airbase, which is home to Ukrainian Su-24 and Su-27 aircraft. Judging by the crater sizes, all of these were Iskander-Ms rather than S-400 ground-to-ground missiles. 11 impact craters are visible, and considering the fact that there are no known Patriot batteries operating in Kirovohrad Oblast, the other 4 missiles which were detected flying to the region probably impacted something else.
