On 21 November 2019, near Hkon Nguen village, in Kyaukme Township, in northern Shan State, the Myanmar military attacked the Ta'ang National Liberation Army's position and Ta'ang villages with artillery shells and a combat helicopter. Residents fled the village when artillery shells landed in the village. Several bamboo houses in Mang Hkok village were damaged.
