A series of clashes between suspected cartel members and security forces has reignited tensions in Tamaulipas, where violence has escalated in recent days following the death of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho," leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
The incidents left at least one state police officer injured and led to road blockades, vehicle burnings, and the temporary suspension of school activities.
According to the Tamaulipas Security Spokesperson, the most serious attacks occurred in the municipality of Camargo, where members of the State Guard, assigned to the Tamaulipas Public Security Secretariat (SSPT), were attacked while conducting patrols as part of Operation Frontera Grande.
