On 13 February 2026, gunmen from Al Ziyayda and Bayt Hashif tribes clashed in the area of Mzairi'a in Qurna district (location unknown, coded as Qurna city, Al Basrah). A police unit (Emergency Regiment) intervened, raiding suspects linked to a prior tribal murder case. One of its members was killed and three commissioners were injured. Security forces cordoned off the site and launched extensive raids, arresting eight suspects, including four main perpetrators, and seizing four rifles and a car. 3 injured, 1 fatality.
