Two foreign nationals were detained in Kutaisi, Georgia, while attempting to buy uranium classified as a nuclear material and the radioactive substance cesium-137 for $3 million, the State Security Service said. Investigators said the suspects had repeatedly traveled to Georgia in recent weeks seeking to arrange the purchase and transfer of nuclear and radioactive materials to another country. A criminal case has been opened. Authorities added that 29 people were detained in a multi-day special operation across several regions as part of 13 criminal investigation
