On 12 February 2026, near Ma Gyi Ta Htaung village (Salingyi township, Yinmarbin district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes by dropping two bombs on a camp of an unidentified local defense force near the Hpo Win Taung mountain using three gyrocopters at around 12:30 pm. The bombs struck an arms depot, causing additional explosions. The Democratic Voice of Burma and Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that 12 members of the local defense force were killed, and 7 others sustained severe injuries. Meanwhile, Khit Thit Media reported that 13 members of the local defense force were killed, while Mizzima reported that 11 were killed. Some civilians harvesting crops near the camp were also injured. Fatalities coded as 11, using the lowest estimate.
