On 12 February 2026, between Mong Nar and War Shawng villages (coded as Mong Nar) (Waingmaw township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state), a joint force of the Myanmar military and the Lisu Ethnic Militia clashed with the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) as the military and the militia attempted to recapture two checkpoints of the Lisu Ethnic Militia which had been captured by the KIO/KIA on 2 February 2026 (which was coded separately). During the clash, the military from the Waingmaw-based IB-58 and the military from Hman Pya Taung mountain and Myitkyina town fired artillery rounds starting from around 6 am to assist the ground troops. Casualties unknown.
