On 12 February 2026, suspected armed Kuki assailants with sophisticated weapons engaged in a gunfight for nearly 3 hours with armed Tangkhul volunteers near Litan village (Ukhrul, Manipur) after Kuki assailants crossed Litan river and attempted to enter the area where armed Tangkhul volunteers were stationed. 3 more houses were also burned. There were no fatalities.
