On 12 February 2026, suspected TTP militants detonated an IED targeting a military escort vehicle for Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), a military construction company, near a bridge in Tangir area (Diamir, Gilgit-Baltistan), causing severe damage to the vehicle. One military driver was killed and four others, including a major-ranked officer, were wounded in the explosion. Total 1 fatality and 4 injured.
