SAA event in Amazonas, Brazil on Thu 12th February 2026

On 12 February 2026, in Tefe (Amazonas), a military police corporal was shot and killed on Pedro Coca Street, in the Jardim Lara neighborhood. Following the killing, nine suspects were arrested, including a first lieutenant and a sergeant of the military police, along with civilians. A vehicle, a pistol with ammunition, handcuffs, and other materials were seized during the operation. The motive for and circumstances of the attack remain unclear, though the killing was suspected to be linked to a dispute involving military personnel and civilians who were suspected of involvement in drug trafficking. 1 fatality.
