On 12 February 2026, overnight, the 6th Brigade, led by Munir al-Suwaih, and the 137th Brigade, affiliated with the Libyan Army's West Coast Military Region, clashed in the vicinity of the vegetable market in Janzur (Al Jafarah, West). The fighting erupted following a dispute between the two groups over control of the market area and the levies imposed on traders under the pretext of securing the site. Other media outlets also reported that tensions escalated when the 137th Brigade arrested a member of the 6th Brigade. An unspecified number of people were injured. Fatalities unknown. The Anti-Security Threat Agency of Zawiya, commanded by Mohamed Bahroun, deployed as a neutral force in the area to de-escalate the situation.
