Around 12 February 2026 (as reported), in the Ceiba municipality, Ceiba, a man and a woman were killed, and their bodies were found at km. 7.4 of the PR-971 road. That point of the road is located near the Rio Arriba neighborhood, which belongs to the neighboring Fajardo municipality. Both victims had a criminal record for violations of the Controlled Substances Law Act. The man was known to the police for a drug point operation. The police suspect that the attack could be drug-related. 2 fatalities.
