On 11 February 2026, TPNPB fired shots at the convoy of PT Freeport Indonesia company vehicles at the KM 50 area in the Tembagapura district (Mimika regency, Central Papua province). A soldier who escorted the convoy died from a gunshot wound. Another soldier and a company's employee suffered gunshot wounds. The rebels claimed that they confiscated two SS2 long-barreled firearms and 50 rounds of magazines.
