Projectile event in Amhara, Ethiopia on Wed 11th February 2026

On 11 February 2026, for the second day, Fano continued to clash with Amhara regional riot police, Kebele militia, and the ENDF in Debre Tabor (Debre Tabor town, South Gondar, Amhara), leading to the killings of many forces on both sides. The clash began when Fano started striking Amhara regional riot police and Kebele militia positions in the town following the withdrawal of the ENDF from many places in the South Gondar zone (coded separately). The ENDF later returned to support the state security forces. The ENDF conducted heavy artillery shelling and multiple drone strikes during the clash in the outskirts of the town, Kidane Mihiret area, and Aba Aregay area, targeting Fano militia members. An additional 4 civilians were killed in the clash. Fano forces destroyed the Farta Woreda police administration office, Debre Tabor town police station, and South Gondar Zone police administration office, and released arrested persons and prisoners. The South Gondar Zone administration accused Fano of destroying public offices, including the South Gondar Zone health office, and of burning an unspecified number of ambulances.
