Bandits attack leaves several dead and injured in Alkaleri, Bauchi

At least four persons were reportedly killed and four others sustained gunshot injuries during an armed attack in Kafi village, Duguri District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
According to sources, the incident occurred on Feb. 20 at about 6:25 p.m. when the bandits opened fire on residents. Security forces were promptly mobilized and engaged the attackers.
During the confrontation, one of the villagers, Danjuma Talaka, and three others were killed, while Khadija Ismail, 30, Adamu Yusha’u, 18, Yusha’u Madaki, 30, and Umar Barde, 37, sustained injuries.
The sources added that an unspecified number of the bandits were believed neutralized, though their bodies were reportedly removed by accomplices.
Some rustled cattle were also recovered during the operation.
Police confirmed that the area has been stabilized, with ongoing patrols and monitoring, while investigations continue into the attack.
