Residents said the military dropped four bombs on Ywarkon Gyi village in Kyunhla Township, Sagaing Region, at about 3:50 p.m. on February 18.
A villager from Ywarkon Gyi said, “They bombed the clinic and the school. There were no casualties, but the clinic and school were destroyed. There wasn’t any fighting in the area at all — they just bombed without any reason.”
Ywarkon Gyi village is located to the west of Kyunhla town and lies within the territory controlled by the People’s Defense Forces (PDF). Residents said it is one of the villages that has been repeatedly bombed by the military.
A local official from the Kyunhla Township People’s Administration Team said, “They [the military] target any crowded place, communication hubs, or intersections — they fly over and bomb them. This time too, they bombed without any reason. Fortunately, there were no patients or students at the clinic and school during the attack.”
