On 10 February 2026, in Kingston, Kingston, overnight, a group of five unidentified armed individuals shot and killed a soldier and injured a policeman off Waltham Park road (Saint Andrew parish). The victims, who were off-duty, came under attack as they exited the vehicle they were travelling in. One version stated that they stopped the march due to a mechanical issue. Another version stated that they made a stop to drop off a female friend. The police officer tried to repel the attack and opened fire on the gunmen. The police later identified a man and a woman as suspects. Two suspected individuals turned themselves in around 12 February. 1 fatality, 1 injured.
