Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Ukraine on Sun 22nd February 2026

At least one person was killed and dozens injured in explosions that hit the western Ukrainian city of Lviv early Sunday, which authorities have labeled a “terrorist attack.”

The blasts occurred after police responded to an emergency call about an intrusion at a store near the city center, according to Lviv’s regional prosecutor’s office. The first explosion took place shortly after police arrived, followed by a second blast with the arrival of a second crew.

A 23-year-old policewoman was killed in the attack, and damage was reported to both a patrol car and a civilian vehicle. The prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into what they are classifying as a “terrorist act that caused serious consequences,” though the circumstances remain unclear.

Lviv's mayor, Andriy Sadovy, confirmed on Facebook that this is undeniably an act of terror. Authorities have yet to identify any suspects in the attack.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine's capital city, Kyiv, there were missile and drone strikes overnight into Sunday, with explosions heard following a ballistic missile alert.
