On 9 February 2026, a personal dispute escalated into an armed clash between two families (likely armed clans) in Aalma (Zgharta, North), resulting in the death of one individual. The confrontation reportedly began over complaints regarding motorcycle noise in the area before escalating into gunfire and retaliatory violence. At least 14 houses were set ablaze during the clashes. The Internal Security Forces were subsequently deployed to the area to contain the situation and restore order.
