On 9 February 2026, for the third day, Fano (AFNM) claimed to have clashed with ENDF in Mengist (Kewet, North Shewa, Amhara), leading to the killings of many soldiers and civilians (fatalities uncorroborated). Fano accused the ENDF of using heavy artillery during the clash, which hit civilian residential houses and caused the killing of civilians.
