On 8 February 2026, between Chaung Gyi and Shan Kone San villages (coded as Chaung Gyi) (Mogoke township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and the People's Defenese Force under the NUG at around 10:00 am. The Myanmar military in Mogoke town fired heavy weapons during the armed clash. The People's Defense Force also fired heavy weapons. Khit Thit Media reported that at least 80 military soldiers were killed and injured. Total fatalities coded as 40.
