On 8 February 2026, in Thlangpang A village (Matupi township, Matupi district, Chin state), the Myanmar military launched four airstrikes on the village using a fighter jet at about 12:30 pm. Khonumthung News, Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, Mizzima, and Network Media Group reported that a civilian (a 13-year-old child) was killed, and about 10 others sustained injuries. A house and a fuel tanker were also damaged. Meanwhile, The Voice of Chinland - VOC, Myanmar Pressphoto Agency, and Khit Thit Media reported that 3 civilians (a child and 2 men) were killed. According to Khit Thit Media, more than 30 people were also injured. Fatalities coded as 1, using the lowest estimate.
