On 8 February 2026, in Hpa Lu Gyi village (Myawaddy township, Myawaddy district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military from the Latt Khat Taung Pagoda Hill position fired heavy weapons with 120mm Howitzers towards the locations suspected to be bases of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and its allies at night for the first day. Casualties unknown.
