On 8 February 2026, suspected Malay Muslim separatists detonated an improvised explosive device and opened fire on a Thai Army rapid-response patrol at Ban Wang Hin Bridge in Tue Ra village, Bannang Sata, Bannang Sata (Yala), targeting a REVA armored vehicle providing election security. The blast slightly damaged the vehicle and injured one soldier.
