On 8 February 2026, in Blumenau (Santa Catarina), three unidentified men killed a man in an ambush outside his residence in the Velha Grande neighborhood. The suspects instructed a teenager to call the victim out of the house, and when he stepped outside, they stabbed him and fled the scene. The victim had prior police records for disturbance, threats, drug trafficking, drug possession, bodily injury, and property damage. The motive for the killing remains unclear. 1 fatality.
