On 8 February 2026, in Fortaleza (Ceara), five drug traffickers kidnapped and tortured four drug traffickers accused of sharing information to a rival faction. The police intervened and found them in an abandoned house in the Jose de Alencar neighborhood tied up and injured. They were subjected to electric shocks and one of them had her teeth and nails pulled out. Two perpetrators were arrested and three were able to escape. There were no fatalities.
